Rusted Bloom

Motilal Jattan’s art series, “Rusted Bloom,” is a striking exploration of the dualities within the modern Western world, expressed through a powerful fusion of materials like metal, barbed wire, ceramic, wood, and foam. Each piece in the collection juxtaposes the harsh, unforgiving elements of rusted metal and barbed wire with the delicate, organic shapes of ceramic blooms and soft foam. The rough, industrial materials symbolize the darker aspects of contemporary life—conflict, rigidity, and decay—while the ceramic flowers, often cracked yet beautiful, represent the fragility and persistence of hope, love, and growth amidst these challenges. Wooden structures provide a grounding force, connecting the opposing forces in each piece, while the foam adds a tactile softness that invites touch, blurring the line between vulnerability and resilience. “Rusted Bloom” is a compelling visual commentary on the coexistence of light and darkness in the modern world, capturing the tension and balance between the harsh realities of life and the enduring potential for beauty and renewal.
